Home warmin’!

by agirlandhermutt on April 17, 2010

Do you remember Tea Party Karen? Well Karen allowed me to come over to her house again for her long overdue home warming party! I love any excuse to get together with my friends and celebrating a new home is even better. I remember how excited I was to move into my new place so I love to see anyone who feels that same excitement.

However, before I got going I *had* to get some food in the belly. My walk was long and tedious because of the rain, wind and cold weather. In addition to the mileage, the weather just made me miserable. Indian food to the rescue. Shahi Paneer and a little garlic naan. Mmmm…this picture makes me hungry just looking at it.

Karen’s gathering was wonderful! There were all kinds of tasty beverages, goodies, and TONS of people.

Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake

Coconut Lime Cake

My contribution to the party. Ha!
Jeanne is like Barney from How I Met Your Mother. She can’t take a bad photo!
Cathy is drinking beer! How could someone turn down the boxed wine?
One of Karen’s wonderful housewarming gifts. Don’t worry.
She isn’t going to leave it on the W/D. At least I don’t think she is? I’m not judging.
While at Karen’s I also played a little game by myself called “Find Random Things in Karen’s Home”. I hope she approves of this game. They aren’t all that weird when you hear what they are about, but out of context they make me giggle.
1. Everyone has an x-ray of their jaw. Right?
2. A Molson cooler in the home of a wine connoisseur. Strange but true.
3. I think these things are fascinating!
So here is the report card for the night:
*Karen’s Hosting Skills- A+
*Drinks and goodies provided by host and friends- A+
*Stories told by friends- A+
*Box o’ Wine- C (I’d give it an A but I have a feeling not everyone was a fan)
Now, lets see if I get invited back! I promise not to bring the boxed wine next time!
Question of the day: Do you prefer to attend parties or host them? I love going to parties so I don’t have to clean!
