Puzzle Pieces (Day 128)…

by agirlandhermutt on May 9, 2010

Ikea furniture is like a big puzzle. There are all these pieces with little holes in them. Each piece looks alike so you have to match up the small holes to get the piece put together. You really just kind of keep your fingers crossed that it works out in the end and all the pieces fit right. I have put together my fair share of Ikea furniture so I was ready to get started and get the bookshelf up in the apartment.

First, a little fuel for the day. I made one of my favorite weekend breakfasts, a One Egg Scramble. I sauté half of a red pepper all chopped up and 1/4 chopped red pepper. Once the veggies are nice and heated up I pour one egg over the mixture. Mix together and season when done. Any chopped up veggie can be added and it really bulks up the one egg.

After breakfast, I got to work on the bookshelf. For the most part it was pretty easy to put together. Then I got to the last few screws and was having a serious issue getting those suckers to screw in appropriately. I needed a break so I went shopping for about 2 hours. I am so easily distracted! I finally got home to finish up the construction and with a little help from The Scientist I came up with this…

Sideways!

My new lamp
The entry wall to my place

I love the way the shelf pulls my whole living room together. I have several books that are screaming to be stored in the little cubes and I’m in the process of picking out pictures for the frames. I love new house decorations!
I’m off to get some rest before a super busy week. This time next Sunday I will have completed the Avon Walk and be relaxing after finishing 39 miles!
G’night kids!
