Martini Monday (Day 129)…

by agirlandhermutt on May 10, 2010

Tonight was Martini Monday with the girls! About once a month we get together to grab a few drinks, a bite to eat and attempt to catch up. It is never the same group, but it is always loads of fun.

I knew it was going to be a long day so I started the day out with a Green Monster. This time I added a little sample packed of Green SuperFood.

Umm…gross. It tasted so powdery and just too…green. When I got to work I did a little looking around on the internet and noticed that most people only add about 1 tbsp to their Monsters. I added the whole pack and that is about 2.5 tbsps! No wonder it was funky. I have a few more sample packs to give a try, including one chocolate flavored one so I’m not writing SuperFood off just yet.

When I got to work I was surprised by a little present on my desk. I love presents!

It was from my buddy Jess for my birthday! Talk about a surprise. My birthday is in February. Ha! The thought really does count the most.

I opened it up and was so surprised to find a Vera Bradley beach towel. It just screams me!

Isn’t it so summery and perfect?!

Lunch was a little lackluster since I was going out this afternoon. Just a frozen meal, yogurt parfait and some seltzer. The meal itself had a good flavor, but I never really get all too excited about these.

Finally it hit happy hour time! The girls and I were meeting up at Flash’s in Back Bay. I love that they are all on time or sometimes even early. We were able to grab drinks before the sun even started to go down!

Karen with her Lesbian Fizz.
No idea where the name came from, but it sure looks yummy!

Deb is eyeing Karrie’s drink. Watch out Karrie!

I went for The Twister, which is similar to a strawberry margarita.
Boy, it went FAST!

Tracey’s Rocket Pop

Finally dinner arrived. For me, it was the Mike D’s salad. Complete with roasted butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, goat cheese, dried cranberries and crisp lettuce with an apple cider vinigrette.

This was probably one of the BEST salads I’ve ever had! The squash was such a nice texture to add to my salad and tasted so fresh.

I also had a little sangria to go with my salad. Fruit and veggies!

Anne and Laurie!

It was the perfect way to start the week. Same time, next month ladies!
