Welcome to Wine Wednesday! Did you think being busy would stop me from enjoying my favorite day of the week?! I think not.
This week the bar became friends with Oberon’s 2008 Sauvignon Blanc. I picked it up at one of the Gordon’s First Friday events.
This wine is just a great representative of what Sauvignon Blanc should be. The Oberon wines were created by Rob Mondavi Jr. to be consumed sooner rather than later. It has a both bright and fresh taste and smell. A nose of grass with citrus were around, followed by hints of lemon, green apple, melon, pear and other light acidic flavors.
Give me a hot day and this is the perfect sipping wine for it. This could easily be paired with a spicy dish or you could do what I did…just drink it alone!
Another great buy! Oberon puts out Cab Sav and Merlot as well. These will definitely be on the bar table soon!
