Summer Shack!

by agirlandhermutt on June 26, 2010

Yippee! I’ve been obsessed with the Summer Shack restaurant since the first time I drove by it. I have no idea why. Just one of the random things that I become enamored with. Well, on Phantom Gourmet the other morning they had a little blurb about how some of the best lobster in town was at the Summer Shack. I *might* have mentioned it about 20 times to The Scientist. Around 6 or so tonight I got a text “Dinner at 8. Hope you like seafood.”

We drove up and were greeted by all this tacky goodness. SWOON…I’m in love!

Inside was apparently where every old person in the area goes on a Saturday night. It was like being in an assisted living facility!

Dinner was easy pickings. Pan roasted lobster for The Scientist.

A Lobster Roll for me. Similar to my quest to eat every veggie burger in town, I must try every Lobster Roll. So far the double roll at Charlie’s in Harvard Sq is the winner.

We also split some mushrooms with garlic.

And some shells & cheese.

Honestly…neither of the sides were eaten. We were so enthralled with our lobster that they didn’t go down our gullets. Thank goodness. It would have been a messy situation.

Although the lobster roll didn’t top my current fave at Charlie’s, the whole experience was definitely worth it. There is NO WAY that we aren’t going back. Maybe even later to see if we are the youngest patrons. 😉

Tonight we are watching Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in preparation for Toy Story 3. I’ve never seen either of these “masterpieces”, as The Scientist refers to them so I’m catching up.

Have a good night!

You HAVE to find one near you! The key is not too much mayo and some serious chunks of lobster. Mmmm….
