Isn’t it nice to make someone feel good? Even in a small way by holding a door open or telling someone that you “love their bag!”? I know that I love when people take time to notice me. One of my fave ways that someone can do this is to just smile at my pup as we walk by or to say hello. *SMILE!*
Yes, Kork…you make me smile!
I’ve been following Caitlin, a healthy living blogger, for awhile who has made her mission to make people feel good and “end negative self-talk”. She does this by simply leaving positive messages in unlikely places for a stranger to find. This mission is called Operation Beautiful and I’m a huge fan of this idea!
Write down some thoughts that you would love to hear yourself on a post-it, stick it in a random spot like a bathroom or on a mirror, and enjoy the day knowing that YOU made someone feel better about themself!
Last night I was feeling pretty good and wanted to share the wealth. It took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to say because everything I came up with made it sound like someone was secretly videotaping you. “Heeyyyy…I’m watching you”. BUT I got it and I made up my own little note and placed it on the inside of a locker at my gym:
Karen, of tea party fame, joined me for a night of gym fun. We hit up the release “party” for Body Jam 54 and Body Pump 74 last night. I don’t think either one of us have sweat so much and we felt AWESOME afterwards. As I was leaving the gym and getting my stuff out of the locker, I stuck my Operation Beautiful note on the inside door. I walked out HOPING that someone would find it that night and start off their weekend with a little bit more pep in their step than normal.
I’ll definitely be leaving more notes! Will you?!
QUESTION OF THE DAY: What super simple thing makes you smile?! A dog being walked that is so excited to go play that he is eating his own leash makes me smile. Oh, and Kork yawning.
