It is no secret that I have a serious obsession with celebrity gossip and crappy reality tv. Some people do Jeopardy, others do The Jersey Shore. I’ll give you $1 if you can guess which category I fall into.
This week is my most favorite week of the year. The Fall TV Season is starting!

For the first time in 11 seasons I will be watching Dancing with the Stars. Yes, for “The Situation”. Yes, for Jennifer Grey. Yes, to make sure The Hoff doesn’t take that mirror ball home. I will be watching, will you?!
REWIND FOR THE WEEKEND!
This weekend was busy, busy, busy. It started off with a trip to the Farmer’s Market on Friday. On the way there I learned something new about Korky. He is NOT a fan of ATM machines!
“What is that noise?!”
Cash in hand, we headed down to pick up some local goodies.
This market isn’t the biggest, but they have some great vendors and it is literally right in my hood.
I came home with these wonderful treats.
Despite all these great finds sitting in my kitchen, I had plans to hit up the New England Dessert Showcase. I’d love to tell you that we had a fantastic time and found some great desserts to eat throughout the wonderful city of Boston. BUT instead! I have to tell you that the New England Dessert Showcase was the most poorly organized event EVAH! Desserts were gone by 2, even though the event was supposed to last until 5p. The line to even get INSIDE the place was over 2 hours long. Ugh…apparently selling around 5,000 tickets to an event in a venue that only holds about 500 isn’t such a great idea.
So rather than stand in the line and kill a few hours just hanging around angry folks, I met up with some of my peeps for a little food and frivolity. The peeps included my wonderful NYC/Boston friend, Meg, who was in town for the weekend. Meg=Entertainment.
We headed down to Bukowski Tavern for a beer and some of their famous “White Trash Cheese Dip”. Oh yea, melted Kraft singles with some spicy ingredients.
Mmm….dark creamy beer. Score!
Bukowski Tavern is known for their Dead Poets Mug Club. Drink 120 of their beers in 6 months and you get a mug with the choice of your fave poet’s name engraved on it.
Meg brings out the silly in me. She also introduces me to “must-have” apps for my fancy schmancy smart phone.
In addition to loving the HUGE beer menu, I was entranced by their awesome bathroom. All bathrooms should be so fun.
Friends and beer. The best way to spend an afternoon. After our little gathering I took an aimless stroll around town. I seriously love this city!
My final culinary adventure was for my church’s social hour Sunday morning. I was in charge of bringing some goodies to snack on. In addition to the regular bagels, fruit platter, and some mini cupcakes, I busted out some of my garden goodies to make caprese skewers. Tomatoes and basil=from the garden. WOOT!
So pretty, right?!
Fresh food. Fresh flavors.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This week will be insane with a nice mixture of work and play!
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you like where you live? Do you enjoy activities around your city?
