Add a little spice to your life…

*Note: I’m not sure what happened, but this was supposed to be posted yesterday. Sorry to those that had problems accessing this post! To those of you who already entered by tweeting, I saw them and you are auto entered. 🙂 *

Remember a few months ago when I discovered Sailor’s Swagger at the SoWa Open Market? This hot sauce has a pineappley flavor to it with a heat that can’t be beat.

I seriously put this stuff on almost everything these days! You can see a few things here and here. It is only made with things I can pronounce and I love that I was able to meet the guy who makes it. If that ain’t local, I don’t know what is.

Fortunately for all of us, Sailor’s Swagger is now a part of the OpenSky storefront. You can get your very own bottle right through the A Girl & Her Mutt shop (or you can click here). WOOT!

To celebrate, I’m doing a little giveaway. 🙂 I believe that Sailor’s Swagger calls it a “Refer a Hottie”. Whoever is the lucky winner will be sent a free sample from the folks at Sailor’s Swagger. Sound spicy?!

Here are the deets in order to win this awesome giveaway…

Comment on this post with your fave things to put hot sauce on.

I’ll announce the winner on Friday night (10/1) . Sound good? Good!

PS. Remember, if you don’t win you can still pick up a bottle of this lovely liquid right here.

Gosh, I love hot sauce! I tend to put it on everything… I really love it most on omelets though. They just seem so bare without it!

We put hot sauce on just about everything! Seriously, especially my hubby. He puts it on things I would never put it on. Eggs are my favorite thing to put it on. 🙂

I’d fall for the pineapple and my BF would love the spice. Sounds like a win-win!

I love hot sauce in my burritos! I add a bunch of it to sauteed peppers and other veggies… also in couscous and sometimes even in a dish with quinoa! Seriously… I can put it in anything.

And pineapple!? I love hotsauces that incorporate fruit. My dad has a great blueberry hot sauce I’ve had on a breakfast burrito!

Wow. I thought I was going to be original by saying scrambled eggs, but that seems to be a universal favorite. Let’s hear it for hot sauce on scrambled eggs!

I love hot sauce on eggs, on sandwiches, on salads, in soups… love it!

This is going to sound pretty cheesy, but I’m gonna go with tofu! Or beans, yeah black beans with hot sauce and sour cream.

I’m gonna represent the Gulf coast here and say…. hot sauce on raw oysters is the best. thing. EVER! Oh, and if there happened to be a bloody mary present with said hot sauce included, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings 🙂

Pineapple Hot Sauce …yummy!!

I would probaby make a sweet and sour hot sauce shower chicken/pork over pearl barley…You get some sour cherries, pineapple (if you have the pineapple flavored hot sauce I would go a bit easier on the pineapple) oranges, grapefruit, garlic, onion, carrots, broccoli, baby bell peppers and some chicken tenders or pork medallions and you pretty much cook the meat, reduce all the fruit in a skillet and then add in the hot sauce and then add in the meat and blanched veggies (reserve some sauce for the top)..stir it all up and add the remaining sauce and a some hot sauce on top. I would just cooked up some pearl barley and add in some pineapple hot sauce when it was cooked to give it the edge of flavor and Viola! you have a tasty, sweet, sour and spicy asian/american dish that everyone would love…

oh, I would also throw on top some toasted sesame seeds!! love nutty flavor with this…
