Let the sun shine!

I’m HOME! Yes, yes…Boston is technically home. I definitely think of it as my home. But Florida? Its my HOME. You can take the girl out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of the girl. ;)

I was so excited to see my parents! I’m pretty sure they were pumped to see me too.

Our first stop was to get some lunch. I was starvin’ marvin! We hit up The Grand Marlin on Pensacola Beach.

The Grand Marlin prints their menu daily to ensure that they are offering the freshest and best seafood on the Gulf Coast.  To start off we went with the Blue Angel Chips, homemade chips with a blue cheese dressing.

Paired with their own hot sauce and these chips were KILLAH. FIRE IN THE HOLE!

As we waited for our entrees, my Dad and I sipped on some serious Bushwackers. Mmm…Cruzan Black Strap rum, coffee liqueur,
cream of coconut, 151 rum float, and a little ice cream.

CHEERS!

For lunch I chowed down on a shrimp po’ boy. The shrimp were just perfectly cooked. The sandwich was so big that I didn’t bother stuffing myself with those fries.

Once we were done we toured around the restaurant a bit. I loved the outdoor seating and can’t wait to return when it isn’t quite so windy!

The rest of the day was dedicated to just hanging out and just relaxing at home. The pups were certainly happy to see me. OR they were possibly just excited to see my super soft blanket come out to play.
Butch (who was feeling a bit camera shy)…

It feels so nice to be back with my family. It officially feels like Christmas is around the corner!

QOTD: Do you host holiday festivities at your house? Go somewhere else?

Those chips look A-WESOME! Yum!

We always head to south-ish Florida to our families until a few days after Christmas. I say south-ish because they live south of Orlando (which is Central to me) and north of West Palm Beach (which is South to me).

Have fun!

When are you heading back to the land of the cold?

Orlando is Central to me too. :) I’m not heading back to the frigid temps until the beginning of January. I’m digging the whole long vacation!

I hope you have a great Christmas!

Your parentals are so adorable :)

And yeeeeeaaaaah, I want a huge pile of Blue Angel Chips—stat! I’m going down to Florida tomorrow. I grew up there but don’t really consider it home since I haven’t permanently lived there since HS. I really don’t know where I consider home now that I think about it, hmmmmm, kinda sad. I guess home is where the where is right?

Have a Merry Christmas!!

Thank you! Home is totally where the heart is. I haven’t liven in Pensacola since 1998 but it will ALWAYS be my home. I’m not sure why. Maybe because my parents are still here?!

I hope you had a great Christmas!

We split Christmas festivities. Christmas Eve in the past has been a potluck at the inlaws. This year it was held at our house… for about 20 people! Christmas Day is with my side of the family.

Christmas without the even chance of snow is weird to this Midwestern girl! We had a White Christmas.

20 people!? That is nuts! So fun though!

Hope you enjoyed that White Christmas!

True, it was a large group but it included kids. Best part though is that our part, other than house cleaning, was the ham and cupcakes. My MiL & BiL came early too for prep/set up help.
