No Camera Weekend=Busy Monday!

by agirlandhermutt on June 27, 2011

I took the whole weekend off from the camera. I didn’t make a conscious decision to not take photos, but just never even thought to bring it out of my bag while I was out. It felt strange to write a post with no photos, but in reality I just didn’t have anything to say yesterday. Basically my weekend boiled down to this…

The Scientist and I went to the gym, saw X-Men: First Class and went out to dinner.

Smile I’m kind of jealous of my weekend when I see it laid out like that.

Anywho…it’s a good thing I took it easy over the weekend because I hit the ground running first thing Monday morning. Here is a little run down of my day!

Early Morning: Panera Bread Drop-Off
-The amount of leftovers this week was insane! I was glad to give this unwanted bread a lovely home at the Food Pantry.

Morning- Early Afternoon: Meetings, meetings, meetings. Work is fun, right!? Smile

Mid-Afternoon: Lunch outside!
-Beautiful day with a crappy frozen meal. They even each other out!

Early Evening: Book club!
-My monthly book club had the last meeting of the season to discuss Bossypants by Tina Fey. We take off the summer months to enjoy vacations and such. This book was the perfect read to do a quick discussion and just enjoy reading. Has anyone else read this? I had nothing but praise for this book, but if you are expecting a typical memoir then you might be surprised. She is known for writing sketch comedy and honestly, her book kind of reads that way. Short stories that combined create a great book/memoir. I also loved that while reading on my Kindle there were about a hundred lines “bookmarked” by thousands of people. She has some great one liners! Must read!

We met at John Harvard’s Brew House in Harvard Sq for some dinnah to go with our book discussion. John Harvard’s has its own selection of beers and some pretty good food choices. I decided on the West Side Wheat beer and the Lentil & Hummus Salad. Good choices Erin…Very good choices. I love the dark, old church feeling that this location has. Its located right in the center of Harvard Sq so the location is perfect for meeting people!

The salad was filled with lentils, greens, portabella mushrooms, artichoke hearts, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and a bit of hummus. DELISH!

Late Evening: Drinks at Russel House Tavern!
-Book club ended a little earlier than expected so I convinced Meg to join me for a chilly drink and some people watching at one of my fave places, Russel House Tavern. I like to play the game “Affair, Co-Workers, or Wife” whenever I’m at a bar. Actually…I probably shouldn’t share that game with you. It makes me seem mean. Eek.

Drinks included were Goose Island Matilda and a Moscow Mule.

Laaatttteeee evening: Home chilling with the pup.
-My mutt was exhausted from doing nothing all night. He had a little bonding time earlier in the evening with The Scientist so he wasn’t nearly as excited to see me when I got home. Whatevs Mutt. Whatevs. Winking smile

Oh, and that is part of my new bedding. Pay no attention to it just quite yet. I’m still working on getting everything all set up!

Phew…I’m pooped just writing what I was up to on Monday! Tuesday is bringing some more fun and I might need a nap to be prepared.

Have a great day kids!

Have you seen or will you see X-Men: First Class?

So good! I love nerdy comic book movies!

Do you eat frozen meals? If so, what brands are your faves?

I  love Amy’s meals, Kashi meals, and every now and then I throw in a SmartOne.

I love wknds like that–when I forgot to take my camera out and am ok with that.

Um, that salad looks amazing. I have a free salad coupon that I’m using tonight and am practically gnawing off my hand since I’m so hungry but trying to wait a little longer to go. I will occasionally have Lean Cuisine panini or pizza or Amy’s frozen meals….I think Amy’s…..or Annie’s….damn you similar names!

PS-Love the pic of Kork!!

Socializing… sounds fun! I am not a fan of frozen meals at all. They almost never taste right to me. And if they have something like chicken in them, it’s all over. I do like Amy’s more than the rest.

I’m definitely seeing the X-Men movie, I’m such a comic book movie dork!

I love that you’re in a book club. I used to be in one but it was too far away. I’m thinking of starting one near me but I don’t even know how!
