A Visitor and a Wedding…

by agirlandhermutt on September 20, 2011

P-Lo came to visit! Yes, I have a friend named P-Lo. ; ) Technically her name is Priscilla but she has been known as P-Lo for as long as I’ve known her after a particularly funny episode where she was caught running with big ol’ J-Lo sunglasses on. It can be funny how nicknames stick, huh?!

The last time I saw Priscilla was her wedding in November of 2010. How sad is that?! We live so close together but life just gets in the way. We have vowed to NOT let that happen again.

Over the weekend we ate, drank and watched a lot of football.

Drinks were consumed.

Food was enjoyed.

Team was cheered on.

There was definitely tomahawks chopped on Saturday night.

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend that went WAY to fast. Why does it always happen that way?! Why can’t time fly when you are bored as crap?

Despite my depression over my friend leaving I was able to get into the spirit of things at a Monday night wedding! A couple that belongs to the Boston Yelp Elite group decided to open their wedding up to the group and have their ceremony/reception at Sacco’s Bowl Haven that includes a Flatbread’s Pizza inside.  Oh yea, did I mention we didn’t know the couple?! Eh. Still so much fun! Its all the beauty of Yelp!

After a short, but very sweet ceremony, we ate tons of pizza, sipped on crisp pear cider, and bowled a few frames of candlepin.

Caught trying get a photo before the ceremony started.

The ceremony. Written vows are so wonderful.

Sipping on cider. Complimentary apple and pear cider.

Photo time!

Bowling time!

Flatbread’s pizza is THE BEST. Those Yelpers can really eat!

The night ended with some cupcakes (I didn’t indulge) and an attempted group photo. Missing a cupcake and crappy photo=FAIL!

Every reception should have bowling! And pizza. Definitely pizza.

Do you have a fun nickname?

P-Lo calls me E-Lo and a few friends from many moons ago call me Rookie. My mom calls me LB and my dad calls me Fred. *Ha!*

a public wedding? never heard of such a thing! 🙂

I have quite a few nicknames – and one of them is K Slo. 😉 only a couple people call me that, and it’s from years ago. some of my favorites – Krisser (Jason’s name), Pessa (from my dear friend Tim, a short version of Principessa), and Snow (for Krismas Snow, from another good friend, and our whole group of friends calls me that). Many others, but those are some of the best ones. 😀

Haha an open wedding? How does that even work?! Bowling would be fun for a reception 😛

My best childhood friend and I have the nicknames “Dilbert” and “Doonesbury”… IDK how we ever got them, but they’ve stuck!

It was a fantastic idea really. And bowling at the reception is the way to go. So fun!
