What do you get when you combine an absolutely gorgeous weekend in Massachusetts and October?! A wedding, of course! For the past 3 years I have gone to a wedding in Boston in October. They have all be beautiful and this one didn’t disappoint.
But first I have a confession. I’m used to not really be into weddings. I had all kinds of issues. What is appropriate to wear? Do I shake hands with the part of the couple I don’t know or do I give them a one arm awkward hug? Is it open bar or do I need to have more cash on hand? How do I tell the couple’s grandpa that I’m not interested in “scrubbing the ground” or “getting low” on the dance floor all night long? <—Seriously happened at a wedding about 4 years ago. I still sweat when I think about it.
Fortunately this wedding was beautiful and comfy. I love the couple. My friends were there AND I had a good lookin’ date!
The other fantastic part about this wedding…THE FOOD!
Mashed potato bar, surf & turf, portabella stack, desserts galore and an ice cream bar. Check out how they used the yellow squash as a ring for the other veggies!
Congrats to Jen and Rob!!!
The wedding wasn’t the only this that went down this weekend. The Scientist and I also braved some serious rain Friday to have an official night out. Dinner & a Movie!
Dinner: Henrietta’s Table – Food is great but their service on Friday left a lot to be desired. Fortunately they serve some great local food that is cooked perfectly.
Crystal Valley Farms Farms Herb-Crusted Rotisserie Roasted Chicken
Movie: Drive w/ Ryan Gosling- Totally not what I was expecting. I think I thought it was going to be more like the Fast & Furious. It.was.not. The Scientist deemed this “one of the best movies he has seen this year”.
The rest of my weekend was dedicated to some crock potting, freezing and getting ready for the week. Just the way all weekends should end!
Have a great week kids!
What is your fave movie this year?
