This weekend was all about rest and relaxation. With BlogHer the previous weekend, Korky being sick/injured, and TONS of work to get through I was feeling a little energy depleted. Fortunately nothing a little sleeping in and a manicure couldn’t fix.

Friday night I met up with a few of the girls to enjoy some good ol’ fashioned BBQ at Sweet Cheeks. Pulled chicken plate FTW! Don’t forget those biscuits if you ever make it there. Holy crap they are good. Oh, and there might have been a “Michelada” involved in the evening.
Saturday I slept in to cuddle a very pathetic looking Kork. He hurt his neck last week and has been suffering from allergies too. The tshirt stops him from continuously scratching his hot spots. Poor pup.
Later in the day I mustered up enough energy to meet up with Karen for a much needed manicure though. I’m still doing the whole gel manicure and loving it. OPI’s Thanks A Windmillion was the color winner.
Saturday night was meant for grillin’ and beer. I brought to the party one of my MANY Wholly Guacamole options. I was gifted a fun box of goodies from Wholly Guacamole while at BlogHer and it arrived on Friday night. The Guac and Pico paired lovely with Dogfish Head Burton Baton, an Imperial IPA.
Sunday I got myself up bright and early for a much needed Zumba session followed by a fresh from the farm breakfast and juice. Farm eggs with farm tomatoes and a “Hulk Juice” made from farm cucs, parsley, lime, celery, green apple and ginger.
I wasn’t the only one taking advantage of the lazy weekend. Korky also got in on the action. He is a pro at doing absolutely nothing.
If you want to follow me on Instagram I am listed under “agirlandhermutt”. Very creative, huh?

Over the years I have learned to appreciate the few moments of downtime that we get. How many of us really have tons of free time?! I’m guessing there are very few of us. Just a few years ago I would have been horrified to think about sitting at home on a Saturday night. Now I can think of nothing better.

Perfect Saturday night= making dinner at home and renting a movie. That would have HORRIFIED me in my 20s, but it’s perfect now!
