Folks, I had a lovely weekend. It was relaxing. It was fun. It was just perfect!

Friday
Friday night was spent curled up on the couch finally getting to watch the first season of American Horror Story.

I was originally all over this show when it started last Fall. But life happened and I stopped watching after 3 episodes. They rest of the season was just waiting for me to find some time. Now I’m about 2/3 through the season and I’m totally hooked!

Saturday
Despite staying up a little too late freaking myself out, I made it to the same kettle bells class that I went to last week. I was sore for days after last week and I LOVED it.

This week’s workout was tough and required a little more coordination than I typically have early Saturday morning.

Work Out
100 bench step ups (25 on each leg in 2 directions)
25 kettle bell chest press (on back)
10 overhead tricep (on back)
*Repeat as many times as possible

Bonus Work Out! (1/2 way mark)
10 burpees
100 reverse crunches

I love the kettle bells and might pick up a set to have at home. I found this great list of exercises from Greatist.com and of course, the Tone It Up girls have a video for beginners.

I also got back on my bike to do a quick trip down to Target and back. Ugh. As much as I want to love the bike…I just don’t. I think I finally figured out that I don’t really like doing things on my own. I mean, I am super independent, but when it comes to working hard I like to be around people. I don’t like to talk while working out or need friends, but just other people to compete mentally against or be in the workout together with. I think this is why I love group fitness classes so much. Depending on the class I’m using those around me to push me to do better (compete against) or commiserate with. I’m not giving up on the bike totally, but I definitely can see that this is a mind game for me. If I can get over the hump of being out there alone, then I can conquer a longer bike ride.

Sunday
Some go to church. You go to Zumba.” –My Mom. I woke up bright and early to get my butt back to the gym for a Zumba class with my favorite instructor. She took the summer off from Sunday classes and the Fall schedule just started back. I was a *touch* rusty from not being in class for a bit and my legs felt a little like jello after all those step-ups on Saturday. I made it through though and shook my booty with the best of them.

I also did a little car shopping. I’m not in the market immediately but it definitely is on the horizon. I loved the newer model of my Hyundai Santa Fe.

Oh, and there was some costume shopping. For Korky. Not a definite decision but definitely a contender.

I finished the weekend off with some good ol’ fashioned laying on the couch. I leafed through my brand new planner from Erin Condren (review soon!) and enjoyed a little snack.

What a wonderful weekend of nothing and loveliness! I hope you guys all had a good few days.

This week I plan on sharing my recent lunches and grocery staples. Fun, right?!

Is it too early to think about Halloween?!
