This Fall weather is making me want to own pumpkin decorations and line a dining room table with colored leaves. I won’t do either of those because I’m lazy and already have too much crap in my house.
It is time to get to the weekly weigh-in! This week was a bit odd. I do my “official” weigh-in on Wednesday morning and consider a new week starting on Thursday. By the way, “official” means that I stand on my scale in my bedroom naked. Weight Watchers should totally have that option.
As I mentioned in my post last week, I decided to switch things up a bit and join the Mshell Fitness team. I knew that this past weekend would be busy with a lot of fun (visitors, football games, etc) and didn’t want to stress myself out about starting something new, so I stuck with the what I knew and was used to.
However, I did start the workouts on Friday night. So basically Friday nights were workouts, Monday was nutrition and Wednesday was weigh-in.
I’m down 2 lbs! WOOT!
After a stellar .4 lbs down in 3 weeks this was welcomed news.
Total weight loss is 53 lbs. I’m getting there slowly but surely.
So what did I do differently? I ate more. Ha. Figures.
I think…and this is coming from a completely non-educated in anything healthy related background…I was starving myself.
I know, I know. Just a few weeks ago I thought my lack of progress was because I overdid it on the food. I think I was wrong. It certainly was not on purpose!
The less I weigh the harder and more often I like to workout. I LIKE TO WORKOUT! That still cracks me up. I wasn’t adjusting my calories very well and I think I was under fueling my workouts. I arrived at this conclusion after having several conversations with some people who are much smarter about this kind of stuff than me.
Workouts from my last weigh-in include:
Saturday-Boulder Shoulders/Serious Cardio
I kind of thought of last week as an “off” week with nutrition but still made really healthy choices. When I say “off” I really mean that I didn’t plan as much, but I also didn’t go crazy. I definitely consumed more calories than I normally would.
Don’t get me twisted. I’m not loading up on beer and nachos, but I did enjoy a few goodies here and there.
Apparently this was just what I needed.
The Mshell Fitness program includes a “diet” that I follow closely and it calls for quite a bit more calories than I have been eating. This is to obviously allow your body to be adequately fueled for all the exercise the program calls for. I definitely feel a bit more energetic but I can’t lie…I’m feeling super full. I am trusting the program though and doing what they tell me. I also feel like a whale by 3pm. Trade-offs.
What is next? Well, I keep doing what I’m doing! This past week was a bit weird because of scheduling. I’m working hard at keeping everything balanced and also squeezing back in my yoga class. Flexibility is not only really important to me, but I also just feel 100% better with yoga in my life.
Don’t let this post confuse you too much though. Everything is not roses and rainbows over here. I’m still working through some slight knee pain after working out. I have to remind myself constantly to stay on plan and really just keep after it. If will power were easy for me, I wouldn’t have put on the weight in the first place!
I hope you have a great weekend! I’ll see ya Monday. Maybe.
