Currently: January 2014

Welcome to the last week of January! I’ll refrain from saying things like “where did the month go?!” and things of that sort. You know it. I know it. 2014 is going to be a blur.

It has been about a month since my last Currently  so I figured this would be the perfect time to just take a moment and see what is up.

CURRENTLY: JANUARY 2014

Current Book:
I just finished Matched  by Ally Condie for my book club.

Eh. It is certainly not my favorite dystopian novel. I’ll end up reading the entire series because that is just how I work, but I don’t see myself necessarily enjoying it. I also picked up a few new healthy living books to read.

Current music:
Katy Perry’s Dark Horse. This is the BEST song for some of my cardio bits.

Current nail color:
I’ve got all kinds of colors happening right now.  The purple color is on toes and the greyish and pink color are on my fingers.

Current drink:
WATER! WATER! WATER! I’ve been trying to start my day off with some warm water with lemon and apple cider vinegar.

I go on little spurts of loving ACV and then forgetting about it. I feel so much more energized and my skin is clearer when I remember it. Noted.

Current food:
Loaded “baked potato” soup.

Except there is not a lick of potato in this soup. Just 1.5 cups of steamed cauliflower, 1 cup chicken or veggie broth, and 2 wedges of Laughing Cow cheese. Blend and top with a little scallion, cheese and bacon bits. DONE!

Current favorite show:
Sherlock Holmes. I managed to miss a few episodes prior to this new season so I’m doing a little catching up. Don’t spoil it for me!

Current wish list:
These sneakers. STILL!

This jacket. (without the weird button down under it) . STILL!

Current needs:
A nap! and someone to do my laundry.

Current triumphs:
I’m killing it at work. Seriously.
Current bane of my existence:
Snow. It was ice and now it is back to snow. I won’t complain much. I know I live up north, but goodness…make it stop. Wearing snow boots to the gym is no good.

Current indulgence:

Current blessing:
My Mutt. Kork is just the perfect little heater when it gets really cold. Lately I’ve been waking up to him “holding my hand”. Awwww.

Current outfit:
I’ve been living in dresses lately! There have been quite a few occasions for getting dressed up both in and out of work. Secretly…I LOVE IT!

Current excitement:
Oddly enough, my current excitement last month was that I was heading to Florida in a few days. Well this month it is the exact same thing! Only this time I am heading to South Florida to celebrate the upcoming wedding of a wonderful friend, AZ!

Current mood:
Fantastic! I’m enjoying life to the fullest. And with a good attitude!

Current Workout:
I’m trying to do a HIIT cardio a few days a week. I’ve been loving this elliptical routine from WHOLEisticallyfit.com. This is quick and really gets me sweating!

Current link:
ToneItUp.com. They are in the midst of the 2nd Annual Love Your Body series and I just love it. I don’t follow it exactly because of my regular MShell workouts, but I do love the idea behind the series. Plus, the support on social media from the TIUTeam is pretty great!

Have a great day folks! I’ll see ya on Wednesday. Or at least I will try!

So weird, I had *just* started filling in my “Currently” (which I think I originally stole from you a year ago) out of the blue this morning and am hoping to post it tomorrow or Weds!

Anyway, that cauliflower soup looks delicious! We’ve become OBSESSED with this one this winter (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/low-carb-cauliflower-leek-soup/) — the depth is RIDICULOUS. I sometimes sprinkle mine with curry powder and we add crushed red pepper for a little kick. I am going to have to try yours, too!!

I’m going to have to try that soup. My trainer has been “yelling” at me to start eating few carbs in the evening. I don’t eat that many, but I suppose I could start making some swaps…
