Oh hello there! Did you think I forgot about this little blog? I swear I didn’t. Every week I marked it down on my planner to blog during the week. And every week I just rushed right past it. I didn’t realize it had been OVER a month since I last wrote until I got a few emails from long time readers asking if I was ok. Oops! I promise that I’m up and kicking.

Well, no kicking. I *finally* had my knee surgery last week! After an unexpected delay in February, I scheduled it for September 25th and it went off without a hitch. I’m a rockstar in physical therapy and my recovery is really progressing nicely. I put a goal out into the world to be back in the saddle for a spin class by the end of October. I probably won’t be able to do all of the moves, but I’d like to be able to at least get back into class and participate. I love the group fitness atmosphere and I am missing it something fierce.

Over the past month I did a TON of fun things. If you follow me on Instagram and now Snapchat, you know what I was up to. Rather than bore you with a ton of recaps, lets just get this party started and keep on moving forward!

Rather than bore you to death with all the things I have been up to (tons of fun things!), I figured we would just jump right back into the swing of things with a good ol’ fashioned “Currently”.

My last currently was in June. JUNE! What am I up to CURRENTLY!?

CURRENTLY: October 2015 (Post Surgery Edition)

Current books:

I rediscovered my library and have been taking advantage of all the ebooks available to check-out. Over the past few months I have been on a roll:

The Rocks by Peter Nichols (I hated it)
A Dark Lure by Loreth Anne White
About That Fling by Tawna Fenske
From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris (SOOOOOKIE!)
The Boy in the Suitcase by Lena Kaaberbol (A nice little surprise!)
The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker (totally recommend!)
The Book of Strange New Things by Michael Faber (YES!)

Up next is The Girl on the Train and whatever my book club book is, which I can’t remember at all right now.

Current music:

I’m obsessed with Stitches by Shawn Mendes and Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld. Is Hailee part of the Stitches song too?! I should look that up. I feel like she is.

Current guilty pleasure:
Reese’s White Chocolate Peanut Butter Pumpkins. Why are the holiday peanut butter cups so much better than the regular!? The pb to chocolate ratio is just perfect.

Current nail color:
I’m in full on Fall mode. Thing OPI’s Malaga Wine or Essie’s new color Leggy Legend.

Current drink:

Starbucks Cold Brew. Specifically, Grande Cold Brew with Sugar Free Hazelnut. Yessss.

Current food:

I *finally* got my hands on a few bags of cauliflower rice from Trader Joe’s. I have my lazy days and this stuff comes in handy!

Current favorite show:

I’ve got so many shows coming back on the air and I’m loving it! How to Get Away with Murder, Bob’s Burgers, The Middle, Fresh Off the Boat. The list goes on. I don’t watch tv much, but I catch up on shows throughout the week or binge on a bunch on a random Sunday. Thanks Hulu.

Current wish list:

A good pair of jeans. I’m still on a quest to find them.

Current needs:

A little less knee swelling and a little more comfort.

Current triumphs:

I got myself back on track with my eating and I’m down 4.2 lbs this week. Yessss. Oh, and I survived my surgery!

Current bane of my existence:

Stairs. All sizes and types. Why don’t we just live in a one story world?!

Current celebrity crush:

James McAvoy. Especially when he plays Professor Xavier in the X-Men. So cute!

Current Indulgence:

Liquid lipsticks. I’ve basically been ordering the entire internet while I’ve been recovering, but most of my purchases have been liquid lipsticks from a variety of companies. So far the winners have been Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn Blood and Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita.

Current blessing:
My family. My Dad came up to stay with me for a week to help me out after my surgery. He was so helpful with the dog and taking care of me. It’s unfortunate that both of his visits to Boston this year have been to help me with recovering after a surgery. My Mom has been supportive of me from Florida and by sending my Dad to help me out.

Current slang:
Nothing new. I need to get something going though!

Current outfit:
It is all about comfort and for me, comfort is palazzo pants. They are a life saver for knee comfort after my surgery, but they are just amazing in general. I might have taken the whole boho look a little too far lately, but I’m all about comfort.
*My cane matches my outfit. Score.*

Current excitement:
HALLOWEEN! FALL! COLDER WEATHER! Last year I was in wedding mode and kind of skipped fall, but this year I’m all over it.

Current mood:
Frustrated but Motivated. I really just want to be back in the gym, but at the same time I know it has only been a week. I will get there! I’m doing the work and I will get there.

Current link:
YouTube. I’ve been watching a ton of videos lately, but always get a kick out of the Conversations with my 2 Year Old series. If you haven’t ever seen one of these videos, you must check them out. They are short, sweet and really funny.

See you guys soon! It’s Fall, I and we have things to talk about!
