Top 15 of 2015

Is anyone else ready to mark February 1st as their new New Year’s Day? Remember those resolutions you set on December 31st? No? Heh. Me neither.

Kidding. But for real though…January is almost over and 2016 is well on its way. But how can you forget 2015?! I know I can’t!

Despite last year being total crap, I had a few bright moments. INCLUDING some really great products.

So get ready for it…Top 15 Favorites of 2015!

Top 15 of 2015

1. First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Daily Face Cream ($20)- Super light but moisturizing lotion. I use this at night during the summer and every morning before I put on my makeup.

2. Alex & Ani Bracelets (~$28)- Throughout the year I picked up and received a few Alex & Ani bracelets. They were the perfect way for me to have a little reminder of vacations we went on or daily reminders of things I love. The two bracelets that stood out this year were the Key To My Heart bracelet from my husband and the rose gold Hand of Fatima (worn in defense against negative energy) from my Dad.

3. Dry Bar Triple Sec 3-in-1 ($26)- Not only does this spray smell wonderful, but it serves as a great dry shampoo. I’m not a huge fan of the buildup that happens when I use most dry shampoos, but this one feels pretty good. Plus, did I mention how good it smells!

BONUS ITEM: Drybar has an excellent shower cap that is lined with terry cloth. For those of you non-daily hair washers out there (unite!), this sucker is a miracle worker.

4. Spinning!- Not really a product exactly, but last year was the year of spinning for me. It was one of the few workouts that didn’t bother my neck when I first started getting back to fitness after my surgery in February and I loved how I could just do my own thing in the darkness. In particular, The Handle Bar was a favorite studio. Love, love, love.

5. IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation– I hate cake face and this doesn’t foundation is never guilty of that. It goes on light but has great coverage. Plus, I don’t feel like a hot mess if I don’t exactly blend it correctly on early mornings.

TIP: Always check out QVC.com for IT Cosmetics before buying elsewhere. This foundation goes for $35 at Ulta and just $43.50 WITH a fantastic quality brush on QVC.

6. Vera Bradley Ultimate Backpack ($108)- This backpack was a gift from my Mom. Backpacks may seem really nerdy, but this sucker is so convenient. I wear a crossbody bag quite a bit but I found that it was pulling on my neck. My mom came up with the backpack idea, which I scoffed at, and sent me this one to prove that they can be cute. I’m sold. I ended up using it all year long as my work bag and it worked out perfectly when I was on crutches later in the year.

7. Hydroflask (~$28)- I think I own about 3 of these now in varying sizes. They keep everything cold and don’t leak.

8. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick ($18)- The matte liquid lipstick trend was HUGE this year and I feel for it head over heels. One of my faves this year was the Jeffree Star brand. Great color, feels good on the lips (not too drying), and lasts forever. Best colors of the year for me were Unicorn Blood and Doll Parts.

9. New Balance 574 Sweatshirt (~$80)- Believe it or not, neon green/yellow goes with a ton in my wardrobe. Plus, the black and grey is the perfect neutral. I love these sneakers and got TOOONS of compliments on them. They aren’t sneakers to be work in Zumba, but they are perfect for running around town and just looking fresh.

10. It Cosmetics Vitality Lipstick Stain ($20)- I like every single color in this line, but my fave this year was Je Ne Sais Quoi. It looks like a balm, but works with your natural lip color to create a natural looking pink shade.

11. Kat Von D Everalasting Liquid Lipstick ($20)- Yes, more lip stuff. Yes, another liquid lipstick. This matte lipstick is the ABSOLUTE BEST you can get. It goes on super pigmented, stays forever and dries super fast. I have about 10 of them, but favorite colors this year were Lovesick and Bow & Arrow. Yesss.

12. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($24)- I have learned that this mascara is a love it or hate it type of product. It was definitely a love product for my miniscule lashes. It doesn’t go on too wet or dry, easily builds up, isn’t clumpy and instantly curls my lashes. Definitely a must for me!

13. Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette ($46)- At first I didn’t give this palette much thought. It didn’t seem to have colors that I was interested in or wear very often. Then I started watching some tutorials and hearing rave reviews and decided to give it a try. This was THE palette I used for the year. I love every single color in here. They are smooth, blend easily and can work for just about anyone.

14. First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser ($20)- FAB products totally won me over this year. This face cleanser is so wonderful. It is gentle, paraben & sulfate free, but gets all of my makeup off. I use this alone and with my Clarisonic Mia. I buy the travel tubes of it too so I can have it with me whenever I travel.

Tip: Also available on QVC!

15. Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade ($18)- Yet another thing my Mom introduced me too. When I’m looking to have my eyebrows on POINT, I use this product. The pomade not only makes my eyebrows look naturally filled in, but it keeps them in line without the use of a brow gel. They have a nice selection of shades for all brows and for the amount of product you get vs how much you use, this is a steal.

I hope you enjoyed the list of my 2015 favorites. It was hard to narrow everything down to just 15!

I hope you are having a great start to 2016. I’ll be back next week with a look back at how I did with my January goals and what my goals are for February (my birthday month!).

See you soon!
