Friday Five

Fave Five Friday: Wish List Edition

by agirlandhermutt on May 10, 2013

I think I have a concussion. No one seems to believe me though. On Wednesday night I opened the freezer door to put something away. I dropped whatever it was and when I stood up the door had swung in a little so I nailed myself right on the top of the head with the corner of the door. It literally hurts all of the time. If the wind blows, my head hurts. If I brush my hair, my head hurts. If I lay down, my head hurts. Hopefully I make it through the weekend a better woman. I’ve already told my BF to come look for me at my house if he hasn’t heard from me in 12 hours. I don’t want to be on the news because I died and Korky ate my body. Well, that turned creepy.

On another note…THANK YOU SO MUCH for the words of encouragement on my last post about running. I keep reading them to know it will get better. xoxo

Anyway, today is a perfect day for a Fave 5 Friday. Since I’m fully entrenched in the Spend Less May Challenge I’ve been doing a lot of online window shopping. Here are five items I’ve been crushing on lately.

Wish List
1.  Classic Bauble Original Bracelet from the Pink Pineapple. I love the bits of bling and the classic gold mixed together. It’s the right mix of way to big and ridiculous with stylish and chic.
Classic bauble Original
2. Legacy Leather Courtenay Hobo  from Coach. Do you ever *need* a bag? If so, then that is how I feel about this one. I love the classic color and the straps that you can wear cross body style or over the shoulder. I like to mix it up. Crazy, huh?!
Coach Legacy Leather Courtenay Hobo

3. Nantucket Gold Sandals from Jack Rogers. I’m on a navy and gold kick and these are just perfect. No they are not that comfortable, but they go with almost everything I own. Plus they make me feel all preppy and like I should bust out my Southern accent.
Palm Beach Platinum Navajo
4. Caveat Sunglasses from Oakley. I saw these in the store the other day and asked the guy who worked there was the style was called. He told me “Ca-veet”. When I looked them up online I found that they were actually “Caveat”. Oh boy. Either way, this rose gold sunglasses are perfect in every way. The nose rest thingys are incased so that they don’t get stuck in your hair. So smart!
5. Bow Bracelet from KJP. I.JUST.CAN’T! The bows, the polka dots, the navy blue. It is all too much for me. If I was Rachel Zoe I would yell out, “I die!” when I look at this. I would also be a lot skinnier. Another thought for another day. Bracelet=TOO CUTE.
Twiggy by Kiel James Patrick

I hope you guys have a great weekend! I’m secretly hoping for a rain day so I can get stuff inside my house done without feeling guilty that I’m not out enjoying the beautiful weather. Don’t tell anyone or they might boooo me on the street. 😉

See ya next week!

What is one thing on your wish list right now?!

5 Random Thoughts Friday

by agirlandhermutt on March 15, 2013

This is going to be a boring looking post. No super fun photos. More just random things I am thinking or going on in my life. Feeling the urge to read? Then this is the perfect match for you today!

1. Last week I tried out a new class at my gym called Strike Kick (kickboxing). The instructor was kind of boring, but got the job done and I loved the class. I could barely wash my hair that night because my arms were so sore. I wanted to go back this Tuesday to his class, but my schedule wouldn’t allow it. I really wanted to make sure that I got that workout in this week so I headed to the gym last night to try out the same class with another instructor. Ugh. Bad idea. The class started with the instructor yelling at everyone to move forward. I like to have room to flail around. Let me be in the middle to back. There were plenty of people in the front. When the music started it was all techno. Fine. I can handle that. I could not handle the constant screeching of this instructor into the microphone though. He was breathing hard. He was yelling. He had one of those Boston accents that you see on tv and think it is fake. What really set me over the edge was the change from techno music to Megadeth. Yes. Heavy metal music. And he sang to it. I lasted through 3 of these songs and when he started yelling at everyone to get down and give him 15 burpees “now, now, now! Don’t be lazy!” I walked the heck out. I went to sweat, work hard, and decompress. I’m pretty sure I strained my face giving him a dirty look as I left. That really showed him, right?!

2. I bought a set of weights off of Amazon to do my own version of Body Pump at home. This should be…entertaining. I used to love this class at my old gym, but my old gym cost $120/month and that is ridiculous. My current $20/month gym is too cheap to do any classes like this so at home will work just fine. I haven’t quite figured out where these bad boys are going to live in my house, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

3. I’m leaving for vacation soon. I AM SO EXCITED. I need sun. I need a cocktail. I need to wear my bathing suit for extended periods of time. Next week I’m going to post a little bit about my packing process which is both genius and slightly OCD.

4. I’m looking forward to a weekend of fun. I have no idea what the weather is going to be and refuse to look at it. I have a few workouts planned, plus some St. Patrick’s Day celebrating. This Irish girl loves a good St. Patty’s celebration!

5. Oh yea, and I’ve officially lost 30 lbs since the beginning of the year. No big deal. 😉

I hope you guys have a great weekend! Cheers to my fellow Irish and Irish-for-St. Patrick’s Day buddies! See ya next week with a few travel posts, another beauty review, and a WIAW!

Are you going to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?!

5 in 5 Friday

by agirlandhermutt on March 8, 2013

Oh joy. Snow. Winter is still here. I can’t say that I am surprised. I remind people constantly when they thing Spring is here that it almost always snows on St. Patrick’s Day. Boooo. I chose to live up here?! 😉

While I had a great weekend I am thrilled to be coming up on a nice relaxing weekend. I have some shopping and workout out on the agenda. Woot!

But first…

5 in 5 Friday!

Five Foods I Enjoyed

Lets just be upfront and honest. My meals look like butt lately. I’m aware. No need to judge. BUT they are good (yes, it is true!), quick, and filled with the nutrition I need. 🙂 And apparently, a lot of shrimp.

Five Workouts I Did

-Tried a new strength class that caused me to be unable to lift myself up off the toilet without assistance of some sorts.

-ZUMBAed it up with 120 of my closest friends.

-Figured out what Strike Kick means. FYI, it means Tae-bo on crack. My arms wouldn’t raise over my head after that class.

-Embarrassed myself at TRX and thoroughly enjoyed it.

-Discovered that there is a fan that I can turn on myself in my spinning class. I sweat just as much with it on me, but it helps me feel like I’m not dying by the end.

Phew. My body is begging for a rest day and I’m giving in to that request. When body parts stop working it is time to lay down and rest.

Five Things I’m Enjoying
