I either have a serious green thumb or I am excellent at picking out plants. Either way, my little patio garden is flourishing!
The herbs are FANTASTIC! My basil’s scent is strong. The dill is growing out of control! The parsley looks so fresh and ready to go. The herb box is getting out of control.
Can you even see the other herbs besides my dill? How do I get it back in control?!
Parsley is ready to be picked!
Lookin’ good!
My tomato plants are also really flourishing. I’m getting flower blooms which means that tomatoes aren’t far behind!
The Topsy Turvy Tree is helping my slightly sad plants get stronger and much bigger.
This one was on it’s last leg and now it is just as strong as the other plants. The Topsy Turvy is amazing!

The only thing that isn’t taking this heat so well is my watercress. A little sad, don’t you think? Any advice on getting it to come back to life?
I’ve picked my basil several times already and I’m so excited to get some veggies growing in the garden. Get excited for some goodies from my own backyard!

It is a good thing that my Dad ate such a yummy breakfast because we had a busy day of…gardening! I had plants ready to be put into pots and vegetables ready to start growing.
I’m sad to report that because of all the rain from previous months my garlic got a bit waterlogged. I felt like it was such a waste of time! So sad.
However, I didn’t want to dwell and figured I will just focus on making my new herbs and veggies the best they can be. I’m still really learning about this whole container gardening thing so keep your fingers crossed for some good results. I’m not asking for a green thumb, but is it too much to ask for a tomato and pepper?!
My herb garden. I went with a few basil plants, chives, oregano, lavender, thyme, and parsley. I also have a little water cress off to the side.
I had a lot of success with my Topsy Turvy last year so it made another appearance this year. Dad helped me put it back together for a repeat year!
I also got a few other goodies planted. I am trying for eggplant, red and yellow peppers, cucumbers, and another attempt at garlic.
I’m warning you now. I’m obsessed with my “garden”. Be prepared for updates and frequent pictures!
Question of the day: Are you a gardener? What is your fave thing to grow? Any tips for a newbie to gardening?!

I’ll give you $1 if you can guess what I started my day off doing. Did you guess walking? If so, then be prepared to receive your dollar.
Boston seems to be a constant state of rain these days. We have a few beautiful days of sunshine and happiness only to be followed by a series of rain and miserable thoughts. Can you tell that I’m done with the April showers?
Today was no different. It started off being a sunny day and quickly turned into this…
There really isn’t anything more annoying than getting 3 or 4 miles from home only to have it start pouring down rain. However, I tried to make the best of it by checking out all the plants that are now available at Home Depot. I’m in the process of planning out my veggie garden and I was excited to see some great looking plants ready for the takin’!
Home Depot also had some great flowers available. I tried last year to do a cute little flower railing garden, but I failed for the most part.
April showers certainly are bringing the flowers! They are also brining the veggies and that excites me. I’ll keep you posted on what makes it home with me to get a home in my garden.
On the walk back from Home Depot I was pleased to have the rain lay off for a bit so I could walk in a bit drier conditions. A walk along the Charles is much nicer when it isn’t raining.
Oh, and have I mentioned how much these geese freak me out? I’m convinced they are going to poke me to death one day. I take photos of them so should I be attacked you can track those buggers down. Revenge!
Quality day despite the rain. It wasn’t such a shabby Sunday in the end. Now I’m off to do some basketball watching. Fingers crossed the Magic come away with a win!
Question of the day: Do you have a garden? If so, what will you be planting this year?
