The Great Flood 2010

When it rains, it pours (Day 72)…

by agirlandhermutt on March 14, 2010

Ugh…rain, rain go away! This whole rain thing is just awful. This is how I will be living until all this mess is over.

1. More than one leak happening now.
2. Look how gross that water is! Thank goodness I wasn’t out of town or my entire couch would have been ruined.
To celebrate a rainy day, The Scientist and I hopped around in Harvard Sq and ended the night with dinner at Fire & Ice with our friend, Brian. I’m trying to make the best of as stressful situation! Keep those fingers crossed.

Down the rabbit hole (Day 71)…

by agirlandhermutt on March 13, 2010

I’m obsessed with Tim Burton. I love all his movies. I love that he is obsessed with Johnny Depp. I love that he loves Helene Bonham Carter. I love that he is creepy.

When I saw the previews for his version of Alice in Wonderland I think a little tear sprung from my eye. It was beautiful looking and had the potential to be as great as all of his other movies. Then I realized it was going to be even better…IMAX 3D. A match made in heaven!

On Saturday The Scientist and I headed out to Jordan’s Furniture in Reading to hit up the IMAX theatre. All of the shows were sold out for the weekend and it was pouring down rain. The perfect combo for a movie night.

Overall, I give the movie an A. I loved the look and feel of the movie. I wish the 3D was a little more a part of the movie and I also wished that Tim had done a little editing a few of the cheesy lines. The Scientist gave it a solid B. A definite must see! And let me be honest…I will totally own this on DVD and watch it over and over in a strange OCD way.

After a lovely meal out, I finally made it back home to be greeted by this.

Do you know what that is? It is a leak in my ceiling. All of the rain was collecting on the patio above my cute little living room and was finally looking to break through.
Sigh…let the fun begin!
