Busy day back in Boston! I have been obsessed with bento boxes lately. There is a great place in Quincy that has all kinds of cute bento accessories and an Asian grocery store, Kam Man, is there too. A match made in heaven for The Scientist and I.
I came home with so many goodies for my lunches! I love all the Asian snacks, especially Hello Pandas. Ch-ch-check it out!
I have a confession though. On the way home I saw The Scientist do something that is so gross I had to take photos to prove that he did it.
First, he stopped here.
Then he ordered this.
Then he ate it.
So gross! This is the Double Down. I’m sure you have seen the ad for it on tv.It is disgusting. It is gross. He should be ashamed. I took this photo so that when he had a heart attack I could show it to the Dr.
Fortunately he made it through the day and was able to make it on a Sunday run/ride. He runs. I ride. Then we volunteered with the church for the Panera Bread pick-up for the St. Patrick’s Food Pantry. The amount of bread they throw out is out of control. Seriously…nuts.
I dropped 8 of these huge bags of bread off at the pantry on Monday morning. It always feels good to do some good!

I’ve recently started participating in a volunteer project at my church. They are working with Panera to collect all their leftover baked goods on Sunday nights to donate to the St. Patrick Food Pantry. The food pantry provides a much needed service to around 2,500 residents of Watertown.
Last night was my first night flying solo while picking up the goodies so The Scientist came with me to help me out. We picked up TONS of breads, cookies, muffins, etc. You name it, we took home the extras! Once we got the goods home we packed them up in separate bags so that individuals can easily take them home from the food pantry. Easy peasy!
It was such an easy project but it felt good to be doing something good for the community!
PS. Korky was going insane in the kitchen while we were packing everything up. That poor pup almost had a heart attack trying to get to all those carbs! Just like his mom…

I got my first donation! I haven’t really started my full on fundraising for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in 2010 yet, but I have done a few things to get ready for it. Well, surprise surprise…I got my first donation today!
I’m now $25 closer to my goal.
